			<description><![CDATA[<div id="imBlogPost_000000005">An insight into the natural oils and finishes I use to protect the wood while keeping its character and feel.<div><br></div><div>After turning and sanding the piece, there are several choices for the final finish.</div><div><br></div><div>The intended use of the item will guide the choice of finish.</div><div><br></div><div>Bowls, platters and other items for food use can be finished in food-safe oil and wax, which is easy to maintain and refresh during use.</div><div><br></div><div>Decorative items receive several coats of sanding sealer, followed by abrasive wax and then a gloss or matte wax polish.</div><div><br></div></div>]]></description>

This is especially important if materials have to be specialliy ordered for a commemorative item, for anniversaries, birthdays and presentations.</div><div><br></div><div>Once you accept the estimate, you will be asked to pay a deposit and the job will be scheduled, with regular updates on progress.</div><div><br></div><div>When the item is completed, I will send you some photographs and a final invoice for any balance due, then the item will be delivered.</div></div>]]></description>
